  • Deirdre
    Eyewear Consultant

    Deirdre is native to the Lake Erie region of Pennsylvania. She started her optical career in Ohio, where she worked for 17 years before moving to Arizona in 2015. She is a product expert and has worked in all facets of the optical industry including private practice, retail, clinic, and recently, the lab that manufactures the lenses before joining our team! When not at work, Deirdre enjoys visiting botanical gardens and hiking trails in Arizona. She loves exploring local restaurants as well as local distilleries, wineries, and breweries! If you ever need a good restaurant recommendation, she is the gal to ask!

  • Kelsey White, O.D.

    Dr. Kelsey White is originally from central Arkansas where she graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Biological Sciences. Dr. White then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

    Growing up in North Dakota, Dr. Heetland developed a strong appreciation for family values and believes in a good work ethic. He and his wife, Loree, married in 1994 and have two children. They have lived in Chandler, AZ since 1999.

  • Jana
    Practice Manager/Billing Specialist

    Jana is currently our Insurance and Billing Specialist and Practice Manager. She is an expert at navigating the increasingly complex world of insurance and patient benefits. Each day, she takes the time to ensure that our patients’ claims are billed properly and that our patients are getting the most benefit out of their insurance plans. Of all the team members, Jana has been with Insight Eyecare the longest, having helped the Heetlands open Insight’s doors for the first time in the summer of 2008. Jana has 19 years of optical experience and received her American Board of Opticianry certification in 2012. She has a vast knowledge of the entire optometric practice. When she’s not working (which occasionally happens), she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kids, traveling, camping, and watching football. (Go Cards!)

  • Karina
    Lead Optometric Technician & Dry Eye Specialist

    Karina is our Dry Eye Specialist and one of our Optometric Technicians. Karina has been with Insight Eyecare since 2016 and has come to love the optometry field! She graduated from Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils!) with a Bachelor’s in Community Health and looks forward to pursuing a Master’s in Nursing or Health Science. She is always smiling and does her best to make sure our patients experience a positive and caring environment. You can find her roaming the halls humming a cheerful tune or relaxing in the dry eye spa room (treating our dry eye patients). Karina enjoys applying the latest technology in the care of her patients, and is always willing to learn the next new thing! When she is not at work Karina enjoys catching up with friends, taking naps and dancing. If you have Dry Eyes come to visit Karina because “it’s always a beautiful day to treat dry eyes patients!”

    Eyewear Consultant

    Mirna moved to Arizona in 2009 and has made this state her permanent home. Mirna joins our practice with a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the optical industry. Her friendly personality and enthusiasm all contribute to providing you with the best care. It is Mirna’s priority that you attain the clearest vision, most comfortable eyewear, and best quality when it comes to your frame and lenses. When not at work, you will find her at home enjoying the company of her two puppies.

  • Joanne
    Optometric Technician & Dry Eye Specialist

    Joanne is frequently complimented by our patients with regard to her quality patient care and courteous demeanor. Having grown up in California, Joanne decided to make Arizona her home and joined the Insight team in 2017. Since then, she has come to love the optical field and values the interactions she has with our patients! She enjoys treating our patients with dry eyes and learning about other ocular diseases and applying the latest technology in the care of our patients. When not at work, Joanne is an avid concert go-er and enjoys being outdoors (or staying in) with her dog.

  • Rachel
    Front Desk Coordinator

    Rachel is a native Arizonan. She is new to the optometry field and enjoys greeting every patient with a smile and ensuring that they are taken care of while in our office. Rachel looks forward to learning more about optometry. She enjoys all things arts and crafts, reading and spending time with her husband and two puppies.

  • Jason McBurnie, O.D.

    Dr. McBurnie joins the Insight team after completion of his optometry degree at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. McBurnie was born and raised in the great state of Maine before moving down the coast to attend the University of New Hampshire where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science in 2014, before heading to the Midwest.
